Vacation Wrap Up

Well, that’s a wrap folks.  Our Bainbridge vacation came to a close almost as soon as it started, it seemed.  Missing the first day for work meant that I missed out on 1/4 of the whole vacation!    I’ll have to plan things better next time.  We finished things up on Sunday with a morning at the Bloedel Gardens.  We visited last year and immediately put it on our “must-do-every-year” list so we were looking forward to it.  Unfortunately the weather was not the warm and sunny feel-good weather that we remembered from last year.  It was windy and cold and it rained but we stuck with it.  The boys were pretty good, actually.  Isaiah had to ride on our shoulders for at least 3/4 of it but Gryffin rallied and walked the whole time.

We forgot the Nikon so we had to rely mostly on the hipstamatic app for photos…

We headed back to our vacation house for lunch and naptime.  Jason squeezed in one more round of mountain biking and paddle boarding while the boys slept and I read.  Then we headed to the ferry for the boat ride back to Seattle, where Summer is finally arriving.   We were all a bit let down after getting home and the boys have taken a few days to adjust back to “normal” life (meaning there have been many a tantrum and toddler angst, nap protests and e a r l y morning wake-ups).   Hoping we’ll get back into the swing of things soon.

Isaiah on Monday.  He took nearly 2 hours to settle down for his nap. Oi!
